1 February - 30 June 2009 The Jury of the 2009 EIUC Photography Competition “Visualising Democracy and Human Rights” is pleased to announce the winner of the 2009 edition dedicated to the theme “Human Rights in the making”: - First prize winner: Pierpaolo Mittica, with a picture titled “Beggar” shot in Mumbai, India For more information on Pierpaolo Mittica’s photographic work see www.pierpaolomittica.com The Award of the 2009 EIUC Photography Competition took place in Venice at Scuola Grande di San Rocco on 27 September 2009, in the framework of the Solemn Ceremony which EIUC organised to celebrate the graduates of the European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation (E.MA) of the academic year 2008/2009 and to opening the E.MA academic year 2009/2010.The Jury also decided to award a special mention to the following picture:
- Special mention; Olga De Biaggio with the picture “Sciusciá” shot in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
